Standing 221 feet tall, this new 13-story SFO control tower features a graceful, flared design clad in curved metal paneling. The cab above provides unobstructed 235-degree views of the airport’s runways and taxiways. To allow for central elevators and stairwells, architects offset the cab, positioning it closer to the airfield to improve sightlines and accommodate state-of-the-art electronics. The tower opened in October 2016 after four years of construction. Nikon D500 w/Tamron 150-600mm.
