June 2017

Sailing aboard the Viking Star on the Thames, headed out to sea when we came across this vessel in distress.  The MV Royal Iris is a former Mersey Ferry launched in 1950. During the 1960s numerous acts associated with the Merseybeat scene performed on the ferry, most notably The Beatles. In 2010 the now-derelict vessel took on water and settled on the mudbank with a hole in her lower side. Nikon D500 w/18-200mm, processed with Aperture.
