Queen Elizabeth II Bridge

2017_TAM_6761_D500.jpg@ Thames River, London, UK

June 2017

Onboard the Viking Star and sailing on the Thames towards the open sea, we passed underneath this modern bridge.  Construction started in 1988 and was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 30 October 1991.  At the time of opening, it had the longest cable-stayed span of any bridge in Europe and is the only bridge across the Thames downstream of Central London to be opened since Tower Bridge in 1894.  NIkon D500 w/18-200mm, processed with Aperture and CK Suite.
