In Tokyo, the Meiji Jingu Shrine is a Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken.  One unique sight is a display of sake (rice wine) barrels (nihonshu) donated to the Meiji Jingu Shrine.  Meiji Shrine sake barrels are bright, colorful, and unique.  They have been donated by many of the 1,800 sake brewers throughout Japan to the shrine with the sake being used for shrine ceremonies and festivals.
